There are two girls down the block who call my dog Jumping Bean.
They aren’t really wrong. Bean does jump. When we go for walks and she gets a little excited, she can easily jump the height of my waist and I’m a tall person.
So the girls have nicknamed her Jumping Bean. It’s cute really.
Bean has been my inspiration for the two Bosties in my cozy murder mysteries. They’re named Cookie and Cupcake. She was also the inspiration for Michael Ramesly’s dog FedEx, a dog that he rescued and carried home through the rain.
Lots of stories we read have pets in them because we love animals so much.
