I make a lot of mistakes. I’m sure you make some too.
As an indie author who is basically my own entrepreneur who has so many hats to wear, it’s pretty inevitable that mistakes will be made. Some mistakes are okay and forgivable. Others aren’t so much. So to help other fledgling authors and authorpreneurs avoid what I’ve done wrong, I’m making a new series of videos on YouTube that address the mistakes I’ve made and how I will prevent them in the future.
This week, my biggest mistake was being too impatient. I wanted to do so much but didn’t wait to make sure that I’d gotten everything lined up before I committed to doing a Book Launch and having a Super Sale.
Amazon has been a little slow lately. What with the long holiday weekend and a backlog created by the merging of Kindle Direct Publishing and CreateSpace, what normally is updated within 12 hours is taking a lot longer. This week, for the first time, they’ve taken over 72 hours! This means that things I promised to my readers weren’t ready and now I have to offer explanations and regrets.
It makes me sad ☹
Don’t make the same mistakes I did. Be certain your items are uploaded and ready for purchase before announcing them to the world.
